Diana L. Maranon Managing Partner - Averil Capital Markets Group, Inc. Managing Director - Averil Consulting Group, LLC Ms. Maranon, founder of Averil Capital Markets Group, Inc. in 1995 and Averil Consulting Group, LLC in 2004, has nearly 20 years of experience with aggregate transactional experience of greater than $10 billion. As a result of her personalized and multi-faceted approach to clients, Ms. Maranon has developed one of the most successful and sophisticated investment banking boutiques in the industry. Since forming Averil Capital, Ms. Maranon is responsible for completing various transactional assignments for a broad range of clients. These include eMachines, Inc., Virgin Interactive, Brilliant Digital Entertainment, MicroNet Technology, Tag-It Pacific and Maxine of Hollywood Holdings. Corporate advisory clients have included, among others, Fluor Corporation, Kemper Real Estate Management Corporation, The Scientia Group (Singapore), DEC Flexible Technologies (the Netherlands) and Adflex Solutions, Inc. (Thailand). Ms. Maranon is also a General Partner of the Marcus Adams Diversified Investments Fund I, a private equity firm focused on public and private corporate orphans with significant real estate assets. Prior to forming Averil Capital, Ms. Maranon was a vice president with the prominent firm of Wasserstein Perella & Co., Inc. At WP&Co. she was responsible for covering companies in the Western United States and had substantial involvement in both European and Asian cross-border projects. While at the firm, her principal transactions included the sale of a majority interest in Genentech to Hoffmann-LaRoche; the strategic review of Cetus Corporation, which culminated in its merger with Chiron Corporation and the sale of its PCR technology to Hoffman-LaRoche; the corporate restructuring of Alaska Air Group; and the dutch auction tender offer for a majority-owned subsidiary of Caesars World. In addition to her investment banking experience, Ms. Maranon practiced law with Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. While at the firm, she was involved with numerous transactions ranging in size from $10 million to $1.5 billion. Ms. Maranon began her career as a financial analyst with Shearson/American Express in its West Coast real estate division. Ms. Maranon received her JD and MBA degrees, with honors, from the UCLA School of Law and UCLA Anderson School of Management, respectively. She is a member of the American and California Bar Associations. |
